Taking Notes

I was given a very good advice:
"Jangan cepat sangat melatah".

Ika, let's take notes together.

Lost

What do we say
when we know that we have said
a little too much?

What do we ask
when we know that we have heard answeres
a little too soon?

How do we listen
when we know that our fears are whispering
a little too loud?

Mishapen

I wanted to see fully
Not missing any point behind
Not wanting to repeat
And repeat
And repeat
Misunderstanding
What I did not see before

But there I went yet again
Letting what's not enough about me
Make you feel all alone

*

It is never your fault.
When I see you again, you shall see a smile
because you deserve nothing less
and all that is more.

Two Halves

"What have we done to each other?
What will we do?"
-Gillian Flynn

Today I see shades of pink and blue.

I realized that we have been conditioned to see the glass only as half-full or half-empty.
Either half-full.
Or half-empty.

We would know that both are true, though
if we were not too smug (oh, yes)
to cling onto just one.

Natural

The sound of the word "Love"
at the end of your sentence,
coming out so naturally;
like it is the only sound that completes a string of words.

Shiver

"But on and on
From the moment I wake
To the moment I sleep
I'll be there by your side
Just you try and stop me
I'll be waiting in line
Just to see if you care."

Without you here my heart's broken to the core."

Sempurna Itu Ada Dalam Setiap Ruang dan Waktu

Katakan tujuh itu sempurna.

Bila kosong, rayukan yang satu.
Bila ada satu, mohonkan yang dua.
Bila ada dua, inginkan yang tiga.
Bila ada tiga, angankan yang empat.
Bila ada empat, citakan yang lima.
Bila ada lima, mimpikan yang enam.
Bila ada enam, kejarkan yang tujuh.

Bila cukup, lepaskan semua.
Dalam genggam tak tinggal sisa.
Harapan pecah hati berkaca.
Tertanya-tanya, Tuhan, bagaimana?

*

Kenapa kita tak bersyukur?

Plans

I suck at playing by ear.
Can I play with your ear instead?

Precious Moments

Silence at first
before the light breaths
then the quickened pace
of the first sounds of sleep
urgently as if it has stood in line for too long
then the soft murmurs of passion and fears
finally drifting off
into the most beautiful, intimate rhythm.

Thank you for the present.
Goodnight.

They Said All You Need Is Love

Recall how many times the words
"How hard can it be?" came into your
mind or slipped between your lips when
you just couldn't get why people behaved
the way they did.

The next time it happens, try this:
Think of the hardest thing you have
ever had to do, the heaviest feeing you
have ever had to hold.

Then tell yourself, "Maybe it's that hard".

Baizulikha (and Little Maryam)

"Sometimes you may arrive at a
path that needs you to leap forward.
In this case, take a few steps back,
prepare yourself for the jump.

Glad to come back home."

Teach Me How To Love

What if it is just a word
That we often use to replace
The feelings and thoughts that we are too tired, scared, unsure of
To admit

When the water freezes into ice
Then melts and drowns our shared existence
What is this ache
That leads me back to you

How do you give
Without anticipating a return
How do you act
Without expecting a reaction

Why am I waiting for that which I do not recognize
What creates the smile
Then leaves it in the end, agonized

There is an echo between your heart and mine
That keeps me looking up above
Come and find me through noise and silence
Tear me apart and teach me how to love

Hover

Somewhere in between
everything will be alright
and
everything is fucked up
and let's die.

Hover.
You were amused by the word.
